03/17/25 Missouri Mondays - #MOLeg on Spring break! Be vote ready for the April 8 election! Get involved and make your voice heard this week!

Welcome to Missouri Mondays!
Over the weekend we proudly stood with NTEU Chapter 66 and allies in KC rallying for federal workers under attack by Trump and Elon Musk. We were also honored to speak with Democrats from all over the KC metro area and beyond about Missouri Action Alliance and our great work together using our voices to advocate for legislation in line with our values and holding our elected officials accountable for protecting our rights and freedoms. Our thanks to the Grain Valley Democrats for organizing a fantastic event!
This week is spring break for Missouri lawmakers, so with no urgent legislative calls to action, we hope you’ll enjoy a little break as well!
For those still looking for ways to get involved, check out our Upcoming Events page. You’ll find everything from national resistance actions in the KC metro, online events, and organizations that need your help.
Thanks for staying informed and for all you do to make a difference! Help us spread the word by sharing this email and the link to sign up: https://www.moactionalliance.com/signup.

NATIONAL CALL TO ACTION!
TELL YOUR U.S. CONGRESSMAN TO PROTECT YOUR VOTING RIGHTS AND VOTE NO ON THE SAVE ACT!
From ULTRAVIOLET ACTION
“Let’s be clear: Republicans want to make it as difficult as possible for U.S. citizens to vote, but we won’t let them! When more people turn out to vote, democracy wins.
Creating additional barriers to voting that will disproportionately affect women, LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, disabled citizens, and working-class families is an attack on our democracy. Join us in urging House members to oppose the SAVE Act!
The so-called “Safeguard American Voter Eligibility” (SAVE) Act has been reintroduced in the House and flagged as a top priority by House Republican leadership.
If passed, the SAVE Act would effectively ban people from registering to vote by mail or online by requiring that all U.S. citizens present a passport or birth certificate that matches their current legal name--not just to register to vote but even to make an address change or update their voter registration.
This means that countless eligible voters who don’t have a passport or birth certificate that matches their name or gender, voters who don’t have those documents at all, and voters who cannot stand in line at their state election office to register to vote or update their voter registration in person would face unnecessary obstacles to casting their ballots. If passed, this baseless voter suppression law would impact young people, disabled people, transgender people, people with low incomes, tribal voters, rural voters, survivors of climate disasters, and military families, not to mention the TENS of MILLIONS of married women who have changed their names.”
